Former Madron Meat Company Site, Penzance, Cornwall
Client: Charles Terrence Estates.
Contract Value: £11 million.
Services: RIBA Stages 0 to 7-Inception to Planning Approval.
Status: Site being marketed with Planning Permission.

Description:

This was a derelict site previously used as an abattoir and fish canning business. Historically the original use of the site was as a workhouse. Our planning application proposed to refurbish the workhouse as open market dwellings, and to introduce to the site a Care Home with a dedicated Dementia Care Unit alongside a development of Extra Care apartments with support facilities, and four new affordable homes. Working closely with the Local Authority Planning Department, the scheme was granted planning approval in March 2009.
